Safe Campuses Now presents Chris Sandy and Eric Krug.  Two real life stories demonstrating the life impact drinking and driving can have.

featuring Chris Sandy
Seven years ago, Chris Sandy was a normal 22-year old kid.  That normal life came to an abrupt end on the evening of April 11, 2000 when Chris decided to go to a party, have four mixed drinks, and drive down a country road outside of Atlanta...

featuring Eric Krug
Ten years ago, Eric Krug was a standout baseball player at Oglethorpe University in Atlanta, Georgia.  He was a typical college student...enjoying life, hanging out with friends and having a good time.  But this life that Eric knew came to an abrupt and horrific end on the night of April 11, 1997...

Blitz Posters 2004
     Poster Campaign

The inside of a bathroom stall may never look the same again if Safe Campuses Now has anything to do with it. SCN has initiated a poster campaign that addresses issues such as exercise and pedestrian safety, date rape, DUI prevention and alcohol poisoning. The posters will be placed in bathroom stalls in local bars and restaurants. They will also appear in high schools and colleges including Piedmont, Gainesville and Athens Tech, along with The University of Georgia.

SCN worked with the Hospitality Resource Panel, business owners, students and law enforcement agencies to develop key topics. The posters pertaining to alcohol and pedestrian-related injuries will be funded through a grant from the Governor's Office of Highway Safety. Donations are being sought to fund other topics related to young adults. SCN is making a conscious effort to reach both male and female audiences.

In order to get these important messages across effectively, SCN interns majoring in marketing, public relations and health promotions and behavior consulted with Snowden Tatarski, a local marketing firm, and a graphic designer with Leon Farmer & Co.

"Cellphone"
Save a pedestrian. Hang up. Pay attention. Let pedestrians lives.
"Happy Hour"
Don't let happy hour turn into a 30 year sentence.
Chris Sandy is in prison after drinking and driving and killing two innocent people.  How happy is that?
"No Means No"
Hopefully, your cell mate will understand what you did not.
No Means No.
Date rape is rape, and in Georgia, rape carries a mandatory 10 year jail term - without parole.
"Rapist"
It usually isn't this easy to spot a rapist in a crowd.
He can be a classmate, a date, or that cute guy who just bought you a drink.  But if he tries to have sex with you against your will - he is a Rapist.
"Trashed"
Man, tonight I'm going to get so trashed, they're going to have to carry me home.
Know the signs of alcohol poisoning:  vomiting, unconscious, seizures, slow breathing, pale blue skin
What to do:  don't le the victim fall asleep, make sure the victim is laying on their side & call 911.
"Trashed Prom"
Man, I am going to get so trashed at prom, they're going to have to carry me home.
Make prom one of the best nights of your life... not the last one.
Think before you drink.  Alcohol can kill.
Original:  "Your Call"
You can call me or the cops can call your parents.  It's your call.
We all have that one friend who didn't go out.  Before you make the decision to drink and drive, call her for a safe ride home.  She understands your life depends on it.
