Safe Campuses Now presents Chris Sandy and Eric Krug.  Two real life stories demonstrating the life impact drinking and driving can have.

featuring Chris Sandy
Seven years ago, Chris Sandy was a normal 22-year old kid.  That normal life came to an abrupt end on the evening of April 11, 2000 when Chris decided to go to a party, have four mixed drinks, and drive down a country road outside of Atlanta...

featuring Eric Krug
Ten years ago, Eric Krug was a standout baseball player at Oglethorpe University in Atlanta, Georgia.  He was a typical college student...enjoying life, hanging out with friends and having a good time.  But this life that Eric knew came to an abrupt and horrific end on the night of April 11, 1997...

Blitz Posters 2005
     Poster Campaign

The inside of a bathroom stall may never look the same again if Safe Campuses Now has anything to do with it. SCN has initiated a poster campaign that addresses issues such as exercise and pedestrian safety, date rape, DUI prevention and alcohol poisoning. The posters will be placed in bathroom stalls in local bars and restaurants. They will also appear in high schools and colleges including Piedmont, Gainesville and Athens Tech, along with The University of Georgia.

SCN worked with the Hospitality Resource Panel, business owners, students and law enforcement agencies to develop key topics. The posters pertaining to alcohol and pedestrian-related injuries will be funded through a grant from the Governor's Office of Highway Safety. Donations are being sought to fund other topics related to young adults. SCN is making a conscious effort to reach both male and female audiences.

In order to get these important messages across effectively, SCN interns majoring in marketing, public relations and health promotions and behavior consulted with Snowden Tatarski, a local marketing firm, and a graphic designer with Leon Farmer & Co.

"Flesh"
When you hear the sound of a car striking flesh, you'll remember it for the rest of your life.
If you're even that lucky.
Let pedestrians live.

"Occifer"
Occifer, I'm not as think as you drunk I am.
In Georgia, driving with a blood alcohol content of .08, or .02 if you are under 21, guarantees you a 24 hour jail stay, 40 hours community service, one year probation and losing your license.
Call a friend, take a cab...Just don't drink and drive.

"Toe Tag"
Don't let a good time turn into your last time.
Someone dies in an alcohol-related crash every 30 minutes.  Call a friend, take a cab... Just don't drink and drive.
Your life depends on it.

"Tombstone"
Don't let your 21st birthday be carved in stone.
Driving drunk can make a good time turn into your last time.

"Tombstone Prom"
Don't let your prom night memories be carved in stone.
Don't be dumb and let drinking ruin your fun.
Someone dies in an alcohol-related crash every 30 minutes.
Think before you drink.
Alcohol can kill.
