Eating Disorders

EDIN (Eating Disorders Information Network)
EDIN is committed to preventing anorexia, bulimia, compulsive overeating and other eating disorders through outreach, awareness and action.  We prevent eating disorders by increasing public awareness of the genetic and personality factors that put someone “at risk,” as well as helping people understand the influence of family messages about food and body size, peer influences to diet, and the impact of media images.  By understanding and recognizing the warning signs and vulnerabilities, sufferers and their family members can address these problems before they turn into a full-blown eating disorder. We help those who are already suffering to find the therapeutic services they need, gathering and distributing information about local and national treatment options.
