Contributions to SCN are deductible as
charitable contributions to the extent allowed by law. Safe
Campuses Now, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation. SCN is
a free-standing, non-profit organization that is not part of or funded
by the University of Georgia, Athens or any other college or
university. All income is obtained from our fundraising efforts,
donations, and sponsorships. Community and Campus fundraising
support plays a key role in the expansion and growth of SCN programs.
Business Against Campus Crime annual membership, Special Event
Sponsorship, and community/campus fundraisers generate the needed
revenue for SCN to continue to spread information regarding the
awareness, education, and prevention of criminal activity. |

Donations, unless otherwise
specified, go to fund all aspects of Safe Campuses Now through
our general account. Operating expenses (office rent,
phone bills, salary for director, and office supplies) along
with programming expenses are paid through this account.
Program costs include:
- printing and distribution of SCN's The Informer magazine and
For Safety's Sake Newsletters
- offering of Free Self-Defense for Women classes
- printing of posters and flyers
- coordinated presentations with schools, colleges, and
universities
Approximately sixty-seven cents of
every dollar goes into programs and mission awareness. Our
Board of Directors and Executive Director are constantly working
to increase this percentage. Our goal is to eventually
maintain a percentage of about seventy-two cents for every
dollar donated going directly to programs and mission awareness. |
